ABOUT US
New Hope Church Of God In Christ was originally founded by the late Pastor Simmons in 1975. However, his pastoral leadership was shortly lived as he was called home by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In 1980, Pastor Milton Starks accepted the calling of Pastoral Leadership. Despite the loss of the congregation, shortly after Pastor Starks assumed the position of the Pastor, the church experienced growth as the Lord added to the church daily". Numerous ministries were birthed and continue to thrive to this day.
OUR LEADER
Superintendent Starks attended Charles Harrison Mason Bible College. In addition to pastoring for over 34 years,
he has been the Superintendent of the Agape Fellowship District for over 18 years. He also serves as the Chairman of the Ordination Board for the Nor Cal Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the Prelate Bishop Jerry W. Macklin.
Pastor Starks is an inspiring example of servant leadership. He knows his calling and walks successfully therein as a leader of God’s people. What we appreciate most about Pastor Starks is his humility. He credits the Lord for all that he has achieved in life. Pastor Starks is truly one to be emulated. We observe this through is role as a man of wisdom, an excellent teacher and preacher, one that knows and studies the Word of God.
Saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost, Pastor Starks is a dedicated prayer warrior.
Pastor Starks is a true man of God and his reputation is one of dedication and consecration. He is
an example of what a husband, father and grandfather should be in the home. As a pastor and father of many
sons in the gospel, Pastor Starks loves God’s people. He has no respect of person, always lending a helping help to his members and within the community.
The New Hope Church of God in Christ honors Pastor Starks as a strong transformational leader. He
is gifted with the ability to motivate and inspire; he leads by example and practices the tenets of the Church of God in Christ fearlessly and nobly. He is strong in the faith and as a result of his steadfastness, his congregation is richly blessed.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
Our Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired andonly infallible written Word of God.
We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons:
God the Father, God the Son and, God the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is
in Christ, at His return.
We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of
Jesus Christ.
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for
personal salvation.
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing
prayer.
We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for
Him.
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the
Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world.
Amen.
